Passify is makes pass management in MODO easy. It's really several plugins in one: QuickFloor, Ultralight, Toggler, and Manager. It's our biggest, baddest, most powerful plugin to date.

Passify is a collection of plugins specifically for automating and streamlining the powerful Render Pass system in MODO.

Render Passes in modo are far more than the name implies: they can control any aspect of your scene.

QuickFloor: Separate foreground and background layers in two clicks.

Ultralight: Create separate passes for each light in a scene, then composite them in post. Fine-tune your lighting in real-time using Photoshop, AfterEffects, Fusion, or NUKE. It is effecitvely similar to Maxwell's Multilight feature. (Ultralight video)

Toggler: Quickly hide and show various meshes in your scene using a simple toggle button. Perfect for creating catalog photography where lots of meshes need to be rendered in a single studio scene, or for designers working with multiple product variations.

Manager: The Passify Manager makes MODO's Render Pass system faster, easier, an safer to use. The Render Pass system is one of the most powerful and under-used aspects of MODO. Many people are afraid to use it because it's complex, confusing, and spread throughout the MODO UI. If you don't know what you're doing, it can even be dangerous. The Passify Manager helps to solve these problems, making Render Passes a genuine pleasure to use.

The manager provides a single, central place to:

  • Create, select, rename, and delete pass groups and passes
  • List and modify all channels in the current pass group
  • Enable Auto-Add with a special twist: the viewport background color changes to indicate that this powerful-but-dangerous feature is enabled.
  • When you Apply or Discard changes, Auto-Add is automatically disabled, helping you avoid costly mistakes.
  • Render the current pass group in one click
  • Render an animation with the current pass group
  • Open a Groups panel
  • and...

Combine Pass Groups: One of the most powerful features of Render Passes in MODO is the ability to create multiple pass groups controlling different aspects of the scene. Have one pass group controlling product color variations, another controlling camera angles, and another controlling product geometry variants? Combine them into a single group in one click and render out every combination: every color in every angle in every shape. A thing of beauty.

Passify is over 2000 lines of code. It's our biggest, baddest, most powerful plugin to date, and we're thrilled to have it out for public consumption.
